Terms of Use
Effective October 7, 2026
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and kennpain. They cover your
use of World Trivia, the World Trivia Plus subscription and the World Trivia website.
By installing or using World Trivia, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree,
please do not use the app.
The app
World Trivia is a trivia app for Roku streaming devices. It presents a question, gives you time to think,
reveals the answer and then shares a short fact. World Trivia is free to use with ads.
World Trivia Plus is an optional paid subscription that removes ads and unlocks the Country Trivia
section. Every other topic, theme and setting is free for everyone.
World Trivia is also subject to Roku’s terms and policies, including the Roku terms that apply to your
Roku account and device. World Trivia is an independent app. It is not made, sponsored or endorsed
by Roku, Inc. or by any country, government or organization mentioned in its questions.
Who can use World Trivia
You may use World Trivia if you can form a binding agreement in your country, or with the permission
and supervision of a parent or guardian. Only the adult who owns the Roku account, or someone they
authorize, may buy a World Trivia Plus subscription.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and
use World Trivia on Roku devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment.
You may not:
• copy, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the app or its questions, answers and explanations
• copy or extract the question library, or use it in another product, website, publication or AI training
dataset
• modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it
• get around or interfere with the app’s ads, subscription checks or locked content
• show World Trivia publicly or commercially (for example in a bar, restaurant or paid event) without
our written permission

• use the app in a way that breaks the law or Roku’s rules, or that harms others
World Trivia Plus subscriptions
• What’s included: no ads in World Trivia, and access to all Country Trivia questions, for as long as
your subscription is active.
• Plans and price: World Trivia Plus is offered as a monthly and an annual subscription. The price, the
billing period and any free trial are shown on the Subscription screen and on Roku’s confirmation
screen before you buy. Prices may include or exclude tax depending on where you live.
• Payment: subscriptions are sold and billed by Roku through Roku Pay and charged to the payment
method on your Roku account. Roku’s terms for Roku Pay purchases also apply.
• Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and is
charged to your Roku account, until you cancel.
• Free trials: if a plan offers a free trial, it is for new subscribers only. When the trial ends, the
subscription becomes paid automatically unless you cancel before then.
• Cancelling: you can cancel at any time. On your Roku Home screen, highlight World Trivia, press
the * button, choose Manage subscription, then Turn off auto-renew. You can also cancel at
my.roku.com/subscriptions. You keep World Trivia Plus until the end of the period you have already
paid for.
• Changing plans: you can switch between the monthly and annual plans on the Subscription screen.
Roku Pay handles the change and shows you its price and timing before you confirm.
• Refunds: Roku processes all payments, so refund requests are handled by Roku under Roku’s
refund policy. Nothing in these terms limits a refund you are entitled to by law.
• Payment problems: if a renewal payment fails, Roku may give you a short grace period to update
your payment method. If it is not updated, your subscription is placed on hold: ads return and
Country Trivia is locked until the payment goes through or the subscription is cancelled.
• Price changes: we may change subscription prices. Roku will notify you before a new price applies
to your subscription, as Roku’s rules require, and you can cancel before it does.
• Restoring purchases: your subscription belongs to your Roku account. Choose Restore Purchases
on the Subscription screen to unlock it on any Roku device signed in to the same account.
Ads
The free version of World Trivia shows short ad breaks between questions. The ads are supplied by
Roku and third-party advertising partners. We do not create the ads and are not responsible for what
they say or for any products or services they advertise. How ads use information is explained in our
Privacy Policy.

Trivia content
World Trivia’s questions, answers and facts are for entertainment and general interest. We work to
make them accurate, but facts change over time and mistakes can happen, so we do not guarantee
that every answer or fact is correct, complete or current. Nothing in World Trivia is professional,
educational, medical, legal or financial advice. If you spot an error, please tell us at
theapproku@gmail.com.
Ownership
World Trivia is owned by kennpain. This includes its questions, answers and explanations, the selection
and arrangement of its questions, and its design, artwork, sounds, themes and software. It is protected
by copyright and other laws. The fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. Roku and its related
marks are trademarks of Roku, Inc. Other names mentioned in questions belong to their owners and are
used for identification only. Except for the licence above, these terms give you no rights in World
Trivia.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Changes and availability
We may update World Trivia from time to time: adding, changing or removing questions, categories,
themes or features, or changing how often ads appear. We cannot promise that World Trivia will
always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, or that it will work on every Roku model. If we stop
offering World Trivia Plus, we will stop future renewals. Any refund you are owed will be handled
through Roku.
Third-party services
World Trivia depends on services run by others, including the Roku platform, Roku Pay and advertising
partners. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we are not responsible for them.
Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, World Trivia is provided “as is” and “as available”, without
warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for
a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so
some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer
protection law, including Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act and the consumer laws of your place of
residence.

Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, kennpain will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special,
consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from your use of
World Trivia. Our total liability for any claim about World Trivia is limited to the greater of the amount
you paid for World Trivia Plus in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50. These limits do not apply
where the law does not allow them, including for liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover kennpain’s reasonable losses and costs arising from
claims caused by your misuse of World Trivia or your breach of these terms.
Ending these terms
You can stop using World Trivia at any time by removing it from your Roku device. Cancelling a
subscription is explained in “World Trivia Plus subscriptions”. We may suspend or end your licence if
you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue after these
terms end will continue, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that
apply there. The courts of Alberta have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer protection
law of your place of residence gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts or under your
local law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as World Trivia changes or as laws change. The effective date at the top
shows when they were last updated. If a change is significant, we will give notice on the World Trivia
website or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using World Trivia after the change takes
effect, you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel any
subscription.

General
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about World Trivia. If
any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of
it. You may not transfer these terms; we may transfer them as part of a sale or transfer of World Trivia.
These terms are written in English, and headings are for convenience only.
